  How Privileged Are You?  Have you ever noticed or compared your own life to others? As rude as it sounds, a lot of people don't realize that others have different lives and on different standings. The Black Lives Matter movement really sparked the controversy regarding "privileged issues." This is usually aimed at white people because of a big chunk of those who are privileged that fall under that race. As a white person myself, I can see where some people are coming from. That is not to say that all white people are privileged though. You don't know everyone's background and where they come from. On the other hand, I strongly believe that "systematic racism" is a thing and is still in place as of right now. This occurs when an employer will hire a white applicant instead of a person of color.   Blog 1 Media Conglomeration The year is 2020 and the world revolves and functions around money. What's even better than one single corporation generating big amounts of revenue? A large corporation owning smaller companies to increase their revenue income would be the answer. In the business world it's common sense that you would want to somehow eliminate competition by merging with other companies. Therefore, this gives the large corporation a boost in booming business. One big corporation, such as Time Warner, would own all of the businesses that they took over: Warner Bros, HBO, CNN, DC Comics, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network. Surprisingly, Time Warner Cable was bought out by Charter Communications.   The Illustration above shows how media conglomeration works. You can see that Disney, CBS, and NBC are the largest conglomerates in the world possessing entertainment and news channels.
